Telecom Providers in the United Arab Emirates
To select the best telecom provider, you need to keep in mind three important things:

There are two leading telecom providers in the United Arab Emirates:
- Etisalat UAE
Apart from the leading telecom providers, UAE also has a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) called Virgin Mobile UAE.
State owns 40 percent of both the telecom providers of the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, there is no concrete competition or rivalry between Etisalat and Du.
The coverage and speed of both companies are relatively the same. If you are an individual who wants to buy a UAE SIM card, you can buy any of the two. Du focuses more on migrant workers, prepaid customers, and tourists. Still, you can buy any of the two SIMs depending on your preferences.
With 13 million customers, Etisalat is the biggest telecom provider in the United Arab Emirates. Etisalat also operates in many other middle eastern as well as African countries.
Etisalat offers a Tourist SIM card called the Visitor Line to all those tourists who travel to UAE on a tourist visa of up to 90 days. The cost of a Visitor line SIM card is 100 AED ($27.20) + tax. The validity of this SIM card is 90 days. However, you can transfer your tourist SIM card to the regular Etisalat SIM card called Wasel by visiting an Etisalat store.
With a validity of 14 days, Etisalat offers you combo plans on the Visitor Line at the cost of 100 AED. Their combo plans are mentioned below:
